Privacy policy

Short version: we do not sell data, we do not run ads, we do not have a newsletter, and the only personal information we hold is what you email us.

Who we are

Clip & Coat (clipandcoat.com) is published by MadGrey LLC. For anything in this policy, contact contact@clipandcoat.com.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked. GA4 sets cookies in your browser and collects an IP address (which Google truncates), approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, and the clicks we tag — principally “someone clicked a buy link”, which is how we know whether a page is useful. We see this as aggregated reports. We do not use it to identify individuals and we have no interest in doing so. Google’s own handling of that data is governed by its privacy policy, and you can opt out of GA entirely with Google’s browser add-on.

Affiliate links

When you click a buy link you leave this site for Amazon, with our Associates tracking tag attached so Amazon can attribute a purchase to us. Amazon then operates under its own privacy policy and its own cookies — we receive no information about you from Amazon, only aggregate reports of orders and commission. Details of the arrangement are on the affiliate disclosure page.

The contact form

If you write to us, we receive your name, email address, chosen topic and message, by email. We use it to reply and for nothing else: it is not added to a mailing list, not used for marketing, and not shared. Our contact form includes basic anti-spam checks (a hidden field, a submission-timing check and a per-IP rate limit) which process your IP address transiently for that purpose and store no profile.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs — IP address, user agent, URL requested, timestamp — for security and reliability. That is ordinary infrastructure logging and we do not mine it.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. There is no circumstance in which we would.
  • We do not run display advertising, so there are no ad-network trackers on this site.
  • We do not operate a newsletter or a mailing list, so you cannot be added to one.
  • We do not have user accounts, so there is no password or profile of yours to lose.
  • We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics’. There is no advertising cookie, no remarketing pixel and no social tracking script. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works normally without them. Amazon may set its own cookies once you arrive on Amazon — that is Amazon’s domain and Amazon’s policy.

How long we keep things

Contact-form emails are kept as long as the conversation is useful and deleted when it is not. Analytics data is retained on Google’s standard schedule for the property. Server logs follow our host’s retention policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — the EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA, and several other US states — you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its processing, or to opt out of its sale (we do not sell any). Email contact@clipandcoat.com and we will act on it. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

In practice, if you have never emailed us, the only data we have about your visit is inside Google Analytics in a form that does not identify you — and the opt-out link above removes even that.

Third parties we rely on

  • Vercel — hosting and request logs.
  • Google Analytics 4 — audience measurement.
  • Amazon Associates — affiliate attribution on outbound buy links.
  • Microsoft 365 / Graph — delivery of contact-form email.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Material changes — a new data use, a new third party — will be described here rather than slipped in.
